GOOGLE – GOOGLE Link checking strategies

Finally, Last but not the least let us deal some strategies on link checking with google, Google as we all know is by far the best search engine out there, Still they dominate the search market and majority of the search users are google users,

Most of the users prefer google to find information, they switch search engine only if they don’t find what they want in google,

Google’s crawler is the most active crawler out there in indexing sites, They run around indexing sites all the time, So they have the most up to date information of pages which are updated recently, So it simply means they know most of the links pointing to our sites,

Google’s backlink checking command is link: , This command was working mean before Jun 2004, This command used to show backlinks which has a pagerank of more than 4, (Pagerank is the technology of google to measure the importance of a page based on the links pointing to that page – More here(http://www.google.com/technology/)) But after June 2004 Google purposely broke the backlink checking command since they felt it is manipulating their search results too much,

SEO Spammers exploited google a lot using that command, They check the backlinks of important sites and figure our who links to them and use those data to improve their own sites, Especially Link mongers used those commands as a part of their business and they sold links based on the number of links showing on the backlinks in google after buying their services, This must have made google frustrated and they purposely broke that command so that it wont serve as a tool for spammers,

As we all know end users are not aware of that tool much, It is mostly used by SEOs/ webmasters / site owners and spammers, So even if google broke that command it wont affect their reputation much since it is not affecting end users,

Also serving wrong data on that command will confuse a lot of newbies / webmasters and poor knowledge SEOs and this inturn will make people more difficult to figure out their ranking algorithm, So serving wrong data and random results on that command will be a benefit for google and this should have been the motive of google too,

I do see in established forums people trying to figure out what is showing in the backlink command, this just proves how well google has executed their plan, google’s primary motive in serving wrong results on that command is to confuse newbie SEOs and they must have achieved that google perfectly, This will make google guy’s giggle sitting before the computers and reading those funny threads in forums,

In my opinion 100% there is no theory involved in the current showing of backlinks, What ever that is showing is just a random sample mixture of backlinks, What ever the site possess is no where to be shown,

So why am I mentioning google back link checking still, it is because google is the most active crawler out there , they know most of the inbound links to a site and there should be ways around that junk command in checking back links for a page in google,

Ok before we start using other link checking tactics in google, Let us start with the basics,

First check the backlinks of a site with the link: command, Though this command is broken still it will show a sample backlink list a page possesses,
